I guess TsAGI if "too coventional" means primarily autogyros instead of helicopters.

Okay I thought about it for a while and I figured out the context of unconventional here. So a bit of browsing at Stingray's site led me to Bratukhin, who is mostly known for outrigged twin-rotor aircraft, and that brought me to the unbuilt Bratukhin B-12 helicopter with M14 engines.
