i know a fair bit about Greek and Roman Mythology so I decided to share....
Achilles - The mightiest of Greek Demi-gods who fought in the Trojan war
Aesculapius - The Roman god of medicine and healing
Alcyoneus - the eldest of the Giants born to Gaia, Destined to fight Pluto
Anaklusmos - Riptide, given to Hercules by a Hesperide, when Hercules faild to defeat Lados the protector of the Golden Apples
Argonauts - a band of Greek heros who accompanied Jason on his quest to find the Golden Fleece, Their name comes from their ship, The Argo, which was named after its builder, Argus.
Augury - a sign of something coming, an omen; the practice of divining the future
Aurae - wind sprit
Basilisk - snake, literaly 'little crown'
More to come .....
Keep Low. Move Fast. First Kill. Die LastOne Shot. One Kill. No Luck. Pure Skill.
Every search for a hero must begin with something that every hero requires... a villain. Therefore, in our search for our hero, Bellerophon, we created the monster... Chimera.
Sorry, movie flashback.
This topic would be much more interesting if it was the mythology behind the name for an aerospace project. For example, Project Nike was named for the Greek goddess who personified victory who was also known as the Winged Goddess of Victory. Her Roman equivalent was Victoria.
Lets just make it a thread about both. Post some general info, and some related aerospace projects. That way we're all happy...
this one has nothing to do with Aerospace but made me laugh when i read the Description of its name
and its spelt 'Kronos' not 'Cronos' and i'm prety sure the Titan lord isn't a god of agriculture

It was just a suggestion. Carry on.
