New 'Facebook integration' feature
Permalink

Well, the techno-geeks of Activeboard have rolled out a nifty little feature for the forum. Have a look at the benefits:

Facebook integration will allow your users to login and register with their Facebook accounts. It is the easiest way for users to sign-up and will help you attract more users and build your forum.

This update will also allow users to share new topics and replies on their activity feed, giving your forum more reach and influence.

I'm going to give it a trial run to see how it goes. Feel free to post your opinion and some helpful feedback.

Nice. Sucks I hate Facebook and want nothing to do with them.

Interesting feature. Cleaned up the login box a bit nicer too. I like pop-up flash boxes better, even though you have to have the right browser software to display it.

Also looks more professional having a "Login / Register" intead of the login username/password boxes next to a "New User" link. How many forums do you know of having a "New User" link representing user registration? None that come to my mind... The simple "Register" is much more efficient.

Congratulations.

Thanks for the comments. Doesn't seem the "Share this on my Facebook wall." subfeature is working, though.

Well if the ''Share this on my facebook wall'' isn't working, there's a facebook icon at the bottom of the homepage of this forum...can't we use that feature to share it on facebook?....

regards

You're right. The icon also displays at the bottom of individual topics. I just tested it and it works just fine. If anyone wishes to share any posts on FB, use that icon. That is, if you're getting the same problem as me.

Well, it turns out "Share this on my Facebook wall" does work, but not with the classic Facebook layout. You must convert to the dreaded "Timeline" layout to see the wall updates.

By August 8th it won't matter, as we'll all have that layout shoved down our throats anyway.
