Seriously, glad to hear it. wink

People should really give it a chance before judging it. I mean, of course the show was originally created for little girls, but what Lauren Faust did with this 2010 reboot made it the modern animated masterpiece all bronies know and love.

Here's a relevant article:

There's got to be some hidden subliminal alien mind-control frequency in these shows.

They tried to subdue the guys as kids with the Teletubbies, and when they realized they failed, they launched Plan B with the Pony stuff.

I don't want to have any part in this nonsense!

I saw a few episodes and I must admit, it's VERY charming. smile It may look girly, but once you get a grasp on what makes this show great, you could really dig it.

I have to admit there's some cuteness there, but it takes a lot more than that to get my attention. evileye

Had to look up "Brony" as I had no idea what it even meant!   Now all is clear.  So what do you call adult male fans of Scooby Doo?

I'm not sure they even have a name. Sure does deserve one though, given how large the fanbase is. If Star Trek fans are Trekkies, MLP fans are bronies, and Avatar fans are (unhappily) Avatards, then that needs a name too. Any ideas?

To the bronies:

Happy Derpy Day, everyone!!!! Remember, at least one muffin must be consumed on this day in honor of Derpy Hooves! wink

Only thing that comes to mind is "Doobies", but that might make folks think of totally different things.  Of course given that Shaggy and Scooby were clearly stoned 90% of the time, maybe not!  anybody else ever wonder why Fred and Daphne never seem to find any clues when they are off on their own?

Double-post:

This clip should put all of those thoughts of MLP still being the same old girly-girl nonsense to bed!

Not bad. That was actually pretty cool! Way to use some Indiana Jones references.

Are there any other episodes with that kind of action? If so I might just give it a chance.

Sort of. You can definately expect great adventures. The second episode of season 1 had scenes giving me nostalgia of some older cartoons I used to watch.

It's mostly season 2 that really cooks, because then the creators started to cater to the older fans... a really cool chase scene in "The Last Roundup", some King Kong style action in "Secret of My Excess" (not to mention sound-alike theme music to James Horner's 'Combat Drop' from Aliens (1986)!!!), and of course, the Indiana Jones action in "Read it and Weep".

There's also a quick reference to The Big Lebowski (1998) in "The Cutie Pox".

So, start wherever you like. You won't regret it. wink

Saw a few episodes. I can see the appeal now, but it's still kinda meh to me.

Vince, you're going through the very first stages of so called "bronyism". Give it a few more episodes and you'll see what happens.

Don't be afraid! Give in to the magic of friendship! biggrin

I guess pointing out that I dissect ponies as part of my job as a veterinary anatomy teacher isn't going to make me cooler, huh?  However, if you ever want to know what makes a pony tick, just let me know!

Not that anypony admits to... but seeing as how this almost 'perfect' world also has it's share in medical problems, it wouldn't surprise me.

I don't know they seem to have a different hoof design than real world ponies.

Oh why not... *brohoof* /)

Yep, I'm giving in. It's not as bad as I thought. I might not be a huge fan, but it's fun to watch.

I got into the MLP: FiM franchise in September of last year. Even I don't know why I like it so much...

I even do art of it, but none of that gross pony pornography that you might end up coming across. Seriously, Google Image Search turns up some scary things sometimes.

Would love to see it!

And I agree on the Google Image search... I'm surprised how much of that filth actually sneaks by the filter.
