Thanks Stingray for reminding us of the only survivor of the LHX program.

At least one is likely to be at Fort Rucker's Army Museum. Shouldn't be too hard to find out online.

The RAH-66 is a wonderful machine and remains one of my favorites as it was the very first stealth helicopter to be built.

Since we all know the RAH-66 is from the LHX program, here is a link to a special thread on the program:

And here is the full-scale mockup of the RAH-66, and a stat image:

I thought I'd post these pics for our newest member, Flyboy.  These are photos I scanned from a personal collection at the USAAM.  Below that are some images I took of the two RAH-66's currently in storage at Ft. Rucker.

Hi i'm new to the forum, found it when i did a google search on the RAH-66 Comanche.

Can anyone confirm both RAH-66's are still at Rucker? In September'11 I found a RAH-66 fuselage at Ft Eustis, could this be one of the two prototypes, or were more build?

Probably a third, non-flying frame for static tests. They often do that.

I just spoke with Steve Maxham, the director of the US Army Aviation Museum, and he confirmed both Comanches are still there.  The photo also shows that it's the mockup at Eustis.

No problem.  Here are a couple of photos of the mockup from "back in the day" from the USAAM.

More cool pics, rotorwash!

Is there any possibility that I could add any or all to my Comanche website? If not, any direct links to the pics on their host site would be good.

Unless otherwise stated, all pics I post are public domain photos from the US Army Aviation Museum archives.  Please do spread them around.  I would appreciate it if you could give the Museum a shout out as the original source though.

rotorwash, how can I ever repay you?

These are incredible! Since I launched my Comanche website I have had nothing but kind gestures regarding images. Just this last week I have had so much sent to me I can't keep up!

It may be a while until I get all these added to my site, but I will add them and let you know when I do.

Not meaning to be picky but I noticed you displayed '...Pamphlet-11.jpg' twice and there is no '...Pamphlet-1.jpg'. Should one of those '... Pamphlet-11.jpg' pics have been '...Pamphlet-1.jpg'?

Thank you so much!

I found some 'rare' Comanche images the other day and wondered if...

... this was genuine or a fan-made poster:
http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/5461/Comanche_n_Flag.jpg

... these could be found anywhere in high-resolution:
http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/5461/Comanche_Cut-away.jpg
http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/5461/comanche2_lg.jpg

... this was cool enough for you:

Many more good pics can be found at the source page, here:

Welcome to the forums!  I'm glad you like the pics.  Having sat in both of the RAH-66 prototypes, they are pretty cool.  However, while the RAH-66 might have proven to be the best attck helo ever built, the venerable Huey Cobra has proven itself time and time again.  I'd go with the simple Cobra over all the techno filled, computer dependent, breakdown prone fancy attack helos like the AH-64 and it's kin.  Of course i am a bit biasedsmile

Here are those images attached. I don't know why the links come up as forbidden, it must just be because they are linked from a third-party site like here. If you copy/paste the links into the address bar in your browser they will display the full-sized originals.
