We might never find out. From my POV here it looks like it has no pitch control for the tail rotor or collective control for the main rotor, plus a chain that looks as if it would fly right off the sprocket.

Another photo of a possible mockup of the WZ-19 with AVIC logo. I'm beginning to think this is a real project after all.

This is a new Chinese TV drama about the PLAAF. Keep your eyes open for attack helicopters that look just like this new WZ-19.

But they're not real, they're CGI and they look a lot like Apaches from the front.

I was looking at promotional pics of Fighting 5th Space and the WZ-19 appears to have the same Fenestron as seen on the RAH-66!

Well! This looks like a tandem-seat WZ-9 helicopter project I found quite a few years ago! Back when I was new to Secret Projects I had found a photo of a very similar tandem-seat WZ-9 aircraft with an engineer or pilot standing next to it. Stupid me didn't save the picture and I couldn't find it since. I told the SPF guys about it and they thought I was talking about a photoshopped hypothetical variant.

Now look at this new "Z-19" find... coincidence? I doubt it! biggrin

And to the side they resemble earlier conceptions of the WZ-10, back when it was proposed to have a Fenestron instead of a conventional tail rotor.

Got this from Sinodefence.com

I have doubts this is the real WZ-19 project, it might just be someone's mockup of the early conceptual WZ-10 erected in a civil workshop.

China attempted to import some BV-234s (CH-47s) for civilian use, and one sample was painted as China Civilian Airlines, but the project was cancelled.

WZ16 is a 1,800 shp turboshaft engine for the Z-15 (AC.352) helicopter expected to enter mass production in 2014.
